BLAKE F. BRUCE

Private Advisor, Managing Director 

 

Blake F. Bruce is a Private Advisor, Managing Director for Rockefeller Capital Management. Prior to joining Rockefeller in 2019, he began his wealth management career at Morgan Stanley in 2003. 

Since 2003, Blake has helped high-net worth families acquire, grow, and preserve assets while also helping them pass their wealth to future generations.  Blake works to streamline and simplify wealth management. He addresses both short- and long-term client goals, ensuring that every client receives a strategy and financial plan specifically designed to meet their unique objectives with forethought and care throughout their lifetime.   

Blake was recognized by Forbes “Best in State Wealth Advisors” in 2018 and Forbes “America’s Top Next Generation Wealth Advisors” in 2018 and 2019.  He was also awarded as the Terry College of Business Young Alumni of the Year in 2012 and was a 40 under 40 honoree by the University of Georgia Alumni Association in 2015. 

Blake earned a bachelor’s degree in finance at the University of Georgia.  He is currently on the Terry College of Business Emeritus Board and was the past Chair of The Terry College Alumni Board in 2020 and Terry College Young Alumni Board in 2010.  Blake currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Whitefield “Called Up” Capital Campaign.  He lives in Atlanta with his wife, Mary Catherine, and their two daughters.

Before joining Rockefeller, Ty spent ten years at Merrill Lynch. There he earned the title of Senior Financial Advisor, Senior Vice President. Ty has prior experience working with an Atlanta based real estate development company and working within his family’s privately held business.

Ty helps individuals and families balance their current needs and make their goals a reality through strategic wealth management. He helps clients address their entire financial picture and plays close attention to understanding who clients are beyond their investments.

Ty was recognized by Forbes “Best in State Wealth Advisors” in 2018 and Forbes “America’s Top Next Generation Wealth Advisors” in 2018.

Ty is active within his community through multiple civic and charitable organizations including the Lake Oconee Academy Foundation Board. He is a past Chairman of the Terry College of Business Young Alumni Board.

He currently lives in the Lake Oconee area of Greensboro, GA with his wife and their three children. In his spare time, he enjoys hunting and golfing.

Private Advisor, Vice President

 

Prior to joining Rockefeller, Hunter was with the Bruce-Dickey Group at Merrill Lynch since 2014 where he was a successful graduate of Merrill Lynch’s National Intern and Team Financial Advisor Training Program.

In his role, Hunter focuses on supporting clients’ needs and goals with investment analysis and tailored wealth strategies via a collaborative approach to provide clear facts and recommendations which allow them to make informed decisions. Additionally, he oversees our team’s financial planning tools and resources to further support clients’ wealth management.

Hunter is an alumnus of the University of Georgia where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Finance. As a former Terry College of Business Ambassador, he continues to be involved through the Mentorship program. Hunter is also a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER-TM (CFP®) certificant, a designation that is awarded by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc.

Hunter currently lives in Decatur with his wife, Kendal, and their dog, Lily. In his spare time, he enjoys golfing and traveling with friends and family.

Afton Hicks is a Florida native who relocated to Atlanta, Georgia in 2018 after living for two years in Palm Beach County. In March of 2021, she joined The Bruce-Dickey group at Rockefeller Capital Management from Goldman Sachs Private Wealth Management. 

As a Senior Client Associate, she focuses on client service and operations. She is a member of the Rockefeller Women’s Initiative Network and local Atlanta Social and Community Outreach Committee.

In her free time, Afton enjoys socializing with her friends, participating in various philanthropic efforts, and supporting the Atlanta Arts. She is a member of the Atlanta Botanical Garden, the High Museum of Art, and the SCAD FASH Museum of Fashion + Film.

Client Associate, Analyst

 

Cortlin is a Client Associate and Analyst at Rockefeller Capital Management. Prior to joining Rockefeller in June of 2022, Cortlin worked in business development for an Atlanta area software company. He graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology with a B.S. in Business Administration with a Finance concentration and holds his Series 7 and Series 66 licenses. Cortlin primarily focuses on alternative investments, portfolio analysis, financial planning, performance reporting, and client operations. 

A native of Georgia, Cortlin grew up outside of Atlanta and enjoys hiking, golf, and adventures with his dog.
