Currently, Ed is a Managing Director at Rockefeller Capital Management and Family Office. He works at 45 Rockefeller Plaza in the storied family office started by John D. Rockefeller. Ed spent most of his career as a Senior Managing Director at Bear Stearns Private Client Services, and a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management, Managing Director @ Barclays / Stifel ultra-high net worth unit. Most of Ed’s clients are successful business owners that have, or at any time can, monetize their business. Ed and his team, through the Rockefeller Family office, do all the planning prior and after that event. 

 

Ed immigrated to the United States in 1978 from Kiev, Ukraine (former Soviet Union). Mary is a Senior Relationship Manager & Head of Philanthropy for The Moldaver Lee Group at Rockefeller Capital Management. 

With over 25 years of experience as an executive in media, fundraising, philanthropy, and management, Mary draws on her diverse background with a genuine passion for helping clients pursue their goals. Her focus is on encouraging and managing client relationships with integrity, purpose, competency, and accessibility. Mary’s vast experience in fundraising and coalition-building has provided her with deep knowledge of the complex issues surrounding philanthropy and endowment that affect people of high-net-worth. Coordinating the group’s strategic relationships through her vast personal and business networks of executives, philanthropists, public servants, and media figures is where Mary is most at home. As the female voice in the group, she is cognizant of the unique issues facing female clients and couples while being mindful of the realities of home life, relationships, and transitions. To guide clients who desire to create a legacy is her deeply regarded honor.

Before Rockefeller, Stifel was home for over four years following the bank’s acquisition of the group’s former home, Barclays Wealth and Investment Management. Before joining Barclays in 2013, Mary was a key member of the Moldaver Group at Morgan Stanley. 

 

Corporate leadership

Before entering the investment industry, Mary spent more than 13 years as the Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director of The Guardian Angels; a volunteer-based organization made up of dedicated individuals who donate their time and energy to help protect communities around the world. Mary led the Angels’ evolution from well-known New York City grassroots street patrols to a respected organization on a global stage focused on community safety. Through her efforts, The Guardian Angels won recognition from major political and governmental agencies, receiving the “Keys to the City” from New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, the Liberty Medal Award, and, most impressively, the President’s Service Award, presented in 1998 by President Clinton for the organization’s CyberAngels Internet safety program. 

 

Media career

By 1996, Mary had distinguished herself as a leading executive in the corporate media arena. She managed advertising sales, client relations, and marketing programs for Capital Cities/WABC Radio and was awarded the company’s prestigious “Circle of Excellence” honor. She also held executive positions at CNN, WPAT, WPLJ, and WRKS. This alchemy of business and education expertise proved to be a powerful catalyst for Mary’s consistent growth in a wide array of fields.

 

Education

Mary studied liberal arts at Monmouth University before earning a Bachelor of Arts in Special Education of Multiple-Handicapped Children from William Paterson University. She also holds a Graduate Certificate in Media Management from Wharton, a Graduate Certificate in Media and Public Relations from the Sterling Institute, a Psi Chi Certificate of Recognition in psychology from Fordham University, and lectured at NYU.

Mary is Team Chief Administrative Officer for The Moldaver Lee Group at Rockefeller Capital Management, which she joined in May 2020. Prior to Rockefeller, Mary spent over four years at Stifel, joining in in 2015, and has been a key member of Ed Moldaver’s group since 2008. She spent three years at Barclays with the team and, prior to that, six years at Morgan Stanley in the same role.

Before joining Morgan Stanley, Mary spent more than 20 years serving national strategic accounts as an account executive in sales and marketing. Her experience working with CEOs and C-Suite executives has been pivotal to her success in all phases of client service and in cultivating new client relationships.

Mary currently holds Series 7, 66, 31, and life, health, and variable insurance licenses. She graduated from University of Buffalo and currently resides in Shrewsbury, New Jersey, with her husband and has two children.

Mike is Team Head of Financial Planning for The Moldaver Lee Group at Rockefeller Capital Management. For more than 28 years, Mike has served as a trusted financial advisor to high-net-worth individuals, executives, and financial professionals.​

Mike uses a process-based approach to develop investment plans tailored to each client’s unique needs. These customized plans encompass a number of wealth management strategies, including tactical asset allocation based on the client’s time horizon and tolerance for risk. Mike’s plans also incorporate behavioral finance concepts in order to help his clients make rational investment decisions based on logic, not emotion.​

Mike joined Rockefeller in May 2020. Prior to Rockefeller, Michael spent over four years working at Stifel, joining in 2015 through its acquisition of Barclays Wealth and Investment Management, Americas, where he spent seven years. Prior to that, he spent more than 18 years in the Private Client Services Group at Lehman Brothers. ​

J.P. joined Rockefeller Capital Management in May 2020. Prior to Rockefeller, J.P. spent over a year at Stifel, joining in 2018. J.P. worked on the institutional equity side of the business, serving hedge funds, asset managers, and global mutual fund complexes ranging in size from $500 million to $100+ billion in assets under management. He began his career as a market maker on one of the largest wholesale trading desks in the country and within five years was managing a sales team in Boston working with some of the world’s largest institutions. He would go on to principal two more institutional sales desks and managed and mentor more than 100 individuals throughout his career.​

J.P. graduated Kean University with a Bachelor of Science in Management and Marketing. He holds Series 7, 24, 55, 63, and 66 licenses.​

J.P. and his wife have three boys. He loves to snowboard, run marathons, compete in triathlons, and spend time with friends, and he is proud to call himself an Eagle Scout. Prior to Rockefeller, Scott worked at Stifel, where he assisted the team in advising high net-worth individuals and families through customized investment planning and wealth management strategies. He began his career in 2008 with Deutsche Bank in New York City, where he was directly responsible for maintaining and developing relationships with the firm’s global hedge fund clientele.​

Scott is a Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) Charterholder. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance from The University of Florida and holds Series 7 and 66 licenses. He is a member of the CFA Institute and the New York Society of Security Analysts.​

Scott lives in lower Manhattan with his wife and family. When not devoting his spare time to the many charitable causes he is passionate about, he enjoys golfing and boating in the summer and skiing in the winter.

Michael graduated from Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance.  He also holds the Series 7, General Securities Representative and Series 66, Investment Advisor Representative licenses.  

Michael currently lives in Manhattan and grew up in Garden City on Long Island. Away from the office, he is a member of the National Eagle Scouts Association, a board member of the Chaminade High School Torch Fund, and a member of the Chaminade High School Wall Street Association. When he’s not working with clients, Michael enjoys travel, photography, golfing, tennis, volunteering, and rooting for the New York Yankees.

Connor joined The Moldaver Lee Group at Rockefeller Capital Management in June 2022 after graduating from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Technology and a specialization in information technology, analytics, and operations. Connor works with his team to focus on all levels of wealth management to offer the firm’s clients specialized strategies for all asset classes, including cash, fixed income securities, equities, and alternative investments. He is committed to bringing a young, creative, and energetic approach to his clients now and in the future.

Connor previously spent the Summer of 2021 with Rockefeller Capital Management on the Northeast Operations team focusing on on-boarding, integration, and data analytics of Rockefeller’s teams. Before Rockefeller, he worked with private equity firm Wellspring Capital Management where he conducted research, built LBO models, and assisted in preparing investment committee memorandums. Connor grew up in Northern New Jersey and currently lives in Manhattan. He is passionate about Notre Dame, water polo, music, podcasts and skiing.

Chloe Duanshi is the Head of Quantitative Research and Portfolio Construction at Rockefeller Capital Management.

In this role, she is responsible for developing broad capital market outlooks – strategic and tactical asset allocation guidance – for the Rockefeller Global Family Office. Chloe also works with advisors and clients to construct bespoke multi-asset portfolios, utilizing both traditional and alternative investment strategies.

Prior to Rockefeller, Chloe was a cross-asset strategist at Morgan Stanley, where she specialized in asset allocation and portfolio construction for ultra-high net worth individuals, single family offices, endowments and foundations. Prior to Morgan Stanley, Chloe worked at BNP Paribas, where she was responsible for structuring custom leverage solutions for hedge funds within the equities and commodities derivatives space.

Chloe received her B.S. degree, manga cum laude, from the Sibley School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Cornell University and M.A. degree in Mathematics from Columbia University. Chloe is a CFA charter holder.

Joseph Roberts is a Managing Director, Head of Wealth Strategy at Rockefeller Capital Management in Philadelphia. Prior to joining Rockefeller Capital, Joe worked for Zeke Capital, a National Multi-Family Office, and Abbot Downing, Wells Fargo’s Family Office. Joe started his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers in the Private Financial Services Consulting Group. Joe has spent his career advising families of unique wealth on their financial needs, including fiduciary administration, tax, wealth transfer and risk mitigation.

Jimmy C. Chang, CFA®, is the Chief Investment Officer of the Rockefeller Global Family Office. He is a member of the firm’s Management Committee and is a Chartered Financial Analyst®.

Jimmy has spent more than 18 years with Rockefeller. Prior to becoming the Chief Investment Officer in 2020, Jimmy was the Chief Investment Strategist and a Senior Portfolio Manager at Rockefeller Asset Management, where he co-managed several equity strategies and had oversight of the Fixed Income group.

Before joining Rockefeller in 2004, Jimmy was a Senior Vice President, Chief Technology Strategist, and Senior Technology Analyst at the U.S. Trust Company of New York, where he led technology equity research and co-managed a technology fund. He previously served as a Senior Marketing Representative and an Advisory Systems Engineer at International Business Machines Corporation (IBM) from 1985 to 1994, where he was responsible for client relationship management, business volume, and profit attainments at major international financial services and banking accounts.

Jimmy earned an M.B.A. in Finance/International Business from New York University and a B.S. (summa cum laude) in Electrical Engineering from The Cooper Union.

He is a member of the Tau Beta Pi National Engineering Honor Society. He serves on the Investment Committee of the Foundation for Contemporary Arts.

JANET WELCH

Head of Family Office Services 

 

Janet Welch is a Managing Director and the Head of Family Office Services at Rockefeller Capital Management. She is also a member of the Firm’s Management Committee.

In her role, Janet partners closely with colleagues in building out the operating platform for Family Office, and has oversight of Operations, Family Office Technology initiatives, Business Management, Bill Concierge, Tax Preparation Services, Financial Reporting, Marketing, and Finance.

Prior to joining Rockefeller, Janet was the Deputy Chief Operating Officer for the Dalio Family Office. While there, she oversaw transformation efforts, program management, the finance and accounting organization, and business continuity. Most recently, Janet was responsible for leading the transformation of key portions of the family office operations including the creation of a holistic security and risk program and the build-out of Human Resources capabilities. Previously, Janet held increasingly senior roles at organizations including Diageo North America, QSP Inc., and IBM. Janet completed her undergraduate degree at Rutgers University and received her M.B.A. at Pace University’s Lubin School of Business.
